hey! i hope you're having a good day today and taking care of yourself in these tough times we're facing. anyways, i was wondering if you could kindly give some writing prompts in relation to fake dating/marriage or engagement. thank you! 💜

Hi :)

Just came back from spending a week with my family and I had a lovely time, so I'm happy right now. Hope you are as well.

For your prompts, here you are:

Fake Dating/Marriage/Engagement Prompts

Dialogue Prompts

  • "You don't have to like me, you just need to pretend you do."
  • "Are you doubting my acting skills?"
  • "I'm easy. Buy me a nice ring and I'll lie to your parents."
  • "I think they bought it. We can leave now." "No way, this was just 5 minutes and I have a reputation to uphold."
  • "Your parents will take one look at me and know it's fake. I'm just so far out of your league."
  • "You know we're not actually dating, so why did you propose to me in front of my family?" "I'm sorry, I panicked."
  • "What?! No one said anything about consummating the marriage!"
  • "I only say yes under one condition: I want a public proposal with the potential to be a viral sensation. Go big or go home."
  • "I said moaning, not screaming! They're not going to think we're having fun, they'll think I'm murdering you!"
  • "You're actually a really good kisser." "You're actually very average."

Text Prompts

  • This fake dating thing all of a sudden turned into an engagement that felt very, very real.
  • It's a Shakespearean love story, but Romeo and Juliet only date to annoy their parents.
  • The fake dating period wasn't supposed to be that long that they had to shop for anniversary gifts.
  • They had resigned themself to the fact that they would not marry for love, but if someone was arranging a loveless marriage they had to live with for the rest of their life, it would be her and not her parents.

Have fun!

Hi!

Any dialogue ideas between two really smart people (Sherlock genius type) who are stupid when it comes to the other? Some sort of love-hate relationship, so insults kind of thing.

Example:

"Wow, I never thought you'd be stupid enough to try and do this"

"Well, you're here with me, so that makes you stupid too"

**A plus would be people's reactions upon seeing them be like this

Hi :)

Two smart and also stupid people in love

Coming right up! (I already liked your own prompt so I'm also putting it on the list.)

  • "Wow, I never thought you'd be stupid enough to try and do this." "Well, you're here with me, so that makes you stupid too."
  • "Is it really that hard for you to admit that I'm clever?" "Yes."
  • "You're saying that you're only attracted to someone's brain, but I totally caught you checking out my butt."
  • "I still beat you that time at chess." "You're never going to let me live this down, right?"
  • "You're smarter than you look." "Is that a compliment for my intelligence or an insult for my looks?"
  • "You're both so smart and yet so stupid."
  • "How do I know if they like me like that?" "You would think that with your IQ you could figure this out on your own."
  • "You must be the reason for global warming because you're hot." "Actually, it's primarily because of too much carbon dioxide in the atmosphere." (old prompt)

Have fun!

xmessaroundx asked:

hello jana! i hope you're having a good day today, you're doing fine and taking care of yourself! I was wondering if you could kindly give some writing prompts and/or advise in how to write an arranged matrimony. For some context my character has to marry to be queen and tbh i don't even know how to introduce them. Help?

Hi, I hope you're doing fine as well :)

Arranged matrimony for royalty

This depends to some extent on the laws of the kingdom and also on the time period when it takes place. Arranged marriages are still quite common in some parts of the world and at the same time people from all different backgrounds marry into royal families. If you want to write about an earlier time it was probably not possible for a princess to choose completely, but you could make this arranged marriage a little bit more of a choice by giving her a few different prospects, like a group of eligible men she would get introduced to and then she and maybe her parents or the council decide who would be the right match. It would probably come down to the financial and (geo-)political prospects.

Introduction could take place all at ones at a ball for example, or one at a time with an invitation to spend a few days with the princess in the castle.

In those days they would probably be chaperoned and would go on outings, like a picnic or visiting the lower town.

If you want to add some more pressure and drama, you could also have them meet the first time at the altar.

For the feelings part, it depends on which road you want to take. The princess could be excepting of her fate, because she always knew it would be neccessary and she wants to serve her people and knows this is the only way possible. Or you could have her being more of a rebel. Fighting against the council that won't let her rule on her own and fighting against every eligible man they put in front of her. For the first option, the introduction would be courteous, for the second option it would probably be feisty.

Here are some prompts that would on one hand show an introduction and on the other hand show the lady's feelings towards it.

Prompts

  • "Thank you, Princess [Name], for inviting me into your home." "Which could soon be your home as well, if the word on the street is to believed."
  • "The council demands a prince consort and I don't feel like I can deny them any longer."
  • "Even in this day and age the people don't seem to trust a woman to rule on her own."
  • "If the crown on my head only comes with a ring on my finger, I will have to except that, whether I like it or not."
  • "My love for one person could never trump the love I have for my people."
  • "My lady, we would like you to view the eligible men asking for your hand." "Well, let's bring on the husband material."

Have fun with this!
